Presencia 60wt 3-ply, long strand, Egyptian Cotton Thread Spools available on cone of 4882 yard spools (4464 meters).  Please select your color option and quantity above.  The Light Grey color is probably the most neutral for almost all piecing.  It has the perfect hue for either warm or cool colored fabric.  60 weight is perfect for quilt piecing to achieve that perfect ¼” seam allowance - a favorite for fastidious quilters!

Presencia Quilting/Sewing Threads are virtually lint free due to the quality of Giza 70/75 cotton and the Presencia spinning process.  Long fibers produce a stronger, smoother thread - but not too strong!  Strong thread is definitely a feature to look for, but with good wisdom. You do not want your thread to be too strong for your fabric.  It is much easier to repair a popped seam than it is to repair frayed fabric from the thread being too strong.  Just think about all those antique quilts with years of use - if the fabric hadn't frayed, you could whip stitch and repair those loose seams with ease!

100% long staple Egyptian cotton, mercerized for strength, colorfast and shrinkfast, tightly twisted and balanced, and virtually lint free.  Available here in 60 weight — the higher the number, the finer the thread.

NOTE:  If you're going to use a finer thread when sewing with your Featherweight, be sure to use the same thread for both your upper thread and bobbin thread.  Bobbin tension might need to be adjusted ever so slightly.

A Featherweight thread stand is also recommended - click here to learn more.
