Can’t join us for March 20 – April 1, 2028? Discover our other 2028 Caribbean cruise on March 11–20, 2028

Picture yourself stitching a quilt on a Featherweight prepared just for you as you sail through crystal-clear Caribbean waters. Surrounded by fellow quilters, you’ll share stories, laughter, and inspiration while tropical sunsets paint the sky.

This isn’t just a cruise—it’s your dream quilting escape at sea!

Your Dream Quilting Vacation Awaits

Overview

Join The Featherweight Shop team and fellow enthusiasts aboard the Celebrity Eclipse for a 12-night Ultimate Southern Caribbean journey that perfectly balances island exploration with dedicated quilting time.

We sail from Fort Lauderdale on Monday, March 20, and return to Fort Lauderdale on Saturday, April 1. We will visit seven Caribbean islands: Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, St. Lucia, St. Kitts, San Juan, and Puerto Plata. You’ll be sewing a laser precut quilt kit on your own dedicated Featherweight (both provided by The Featherweight Shop—no need to bring your own machine!) in our private sewing room. Enjoy uninterrupted quilting time during our four full days at sea, then feel free to use the seven port days to explore the islands. You can sew as much or as little as you like; it’s your vacation.

Prefer different dates? We’re sailing a second Caribbean itinerary, March 11–20, 2028.

Our Private Sewing Room at Sea

Our quilting sanctuary is a spacious, welcoming workspace set aside just for us for the entire sailing. You’ll have room to spread out, share ideas, and immerse yourself in the joy of stitching together.

Spaces to Gather Aboard

Shop by Category

The Lawn Club

Half an acre of real, growing grass on the top deck. Bring a hand-sewing project, a blanket, and a cup of coffee, and stitch in the open air with nothing but sea on every side.

Sky Observation Lounge

Floor-to-ceiling windows high at the front of the ship, with sweeping views by day and music and dancing by evening. A lovely spot for the group to gather as the sun goes down.

The Solarium

An adults-only, glass-roofed pool with cushioned loungers and a whirlpool, quiet enough to read in and warm enough for a swim whatever the weather is doing outside.

Grand Foyer, Café al Bacio & the Martini Bar

The heart of the ship. Meet fellow quilters for an espresso and pastry at Café al Bacio, or gather at the ice-topped Martini Bar before dinner.

Pools and Open Decks

The main pool deck with two pools, whirlpools, and rows of deck chairs for the hours between sewing sessions. Sea days are long and unhurried, which is rather the point.

The Spa and Persian Garden

A full-service spa with a thermal suite of aromatic steam rooms, saunas, and heated loungers. Lovely after a long morning at the machine. (Spa treatments are not included in the package.)

Fitness Center and Classes

A well-equipped fitness center and complimentary wellness classes to keep you energized for quilting.

Dining Aboard

Every meal in the main dining room and the casual venues is included, from an early breakfast before a port call to a long dinner with the group on a sea day. Specialty restaurants are available for an additional charge if you’d like a change.

The ship’s grand two-level main dining room, where our group gathers each evening. A menu that changes nightly, attentive service, and the same table of quilting friends to come back to.

Oceanview Café

The casual buffet high on the ship, with indoor and open-air seating. Breakfast before an early port call, a quick lunch between blocks, or a late bite after the show.

Tuscan Grille

Italian steakhouse fare at the stern, with wide windows over the wake. (Specialty dining, additional charge.)

Murano

Classic French dining with tableside touches, for a special night out with friends. (Specialty dining, additional charge.)

Qsine & Le Petit Chef

A playful dinner where animated chefs cook on your plate before the real course arrives. Great fun for a group table. (Specialty dining, additional charge.)

Sushi on Five

Fresh sushi, ramen, and Japanese small plates. (Specialty dining, additional charge.)

Ports & Itinerary

Seven port days on this sailing, every one of them a walk-off pier, no tenders. Shore excursions are booked directly with Celebrity or on your own; The Featherweight Shop doesn’t handle individual bookings, but we’re glad to point you toward what’s nearby.

Oranjestad, Aruba

Aruba greets you with Dutch gables in candy colors, trade winds that keep the heat honest, and some of the finest sand in the Caribbean. The ship is in port until 11:00 PM, so there’s rare room to see the island by day and enjoy the harbor lit up after dinner.

Wander Main Street and the waterfront Renaissance Marketplace, spend an afternoon on Eagle Beach, or take the drive out to the California Lighthouse and the wild north coast.

Kralendijk, Bonaire

Bonaire keeps things unhurried: a quiet, sun-washed waterfront where flamingos outnumber traffic and the reefs just offshore are among the best-protected anywhere. Pastel storefronts and an open-air craft market sit an easy stroll from the pier.

Snorkel straight off the shore in the marine park, browse the craft market and Kaya Grandi, or ride out to the salt flats and Washington Slagbaai National Park for flamingos and desert-island scenery.

Willemstad, Curaçao

Willemstad announces itself in color: rows of gabled Dutch buildings in yellow, pink, and blue along the Handelskade waterfront, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walk the floating Queen Emma Bridge into Punda’s old town for boutiques, the floating market, and centuries of trading history in every street.

Two fabric shops, Casa Keis and Ackerman N.V., are within walking range of the bridge, and the island’s famous blue liqueur makes an easy gift to carry home.

Castries, St. Lucia

St. Lucia rises green and dramatic behind the harbor, an island known as much for its rainforest and twin volcanic Pitons as for its beaches. The Pointe Seraphine shops sit right at the terminal, and a short drive brings some of the most photographed scenery in the Caribbean.

Visit the Pitons and the sulphur springs near Soufrière, stroll Castries Central Market, or shop for hand-printed batik and madras. St. Lucia is batik country, and Caribelle Batik’s handcrafted prints are a lovely souvenir.

Basseterre, St. Kitts

St. Kitts is a Caribbean treasure where British colonial heritage meets lush rainforest and volcanic peaks rise dramatically from impossibly blue waters. Explore the magnificent Brimstone Hill Fortress—a UNESCO World Heritage Site—or experience the delightful St. Kitts Scenic Railway, the last railway in the West Indies, as it winds through sugar cane fields and charming villages.

Port Zante opens straight onto the compact capital, and the Amina Craft Market near the pier is the place for local batik and embroidery.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

Old San Juan is a rare thing in the Caribbean: a 500-year-old walled city you can explore entirely on foot. Blue cobblestone streets wind past pastel colonial facades, with two centuries-old fortresses guarding the harbor at either end. Best of all, it’s U.S. territory—so your phone works just like home!

Walk the walls to Castillo San Felipe del Morro, explore Castillo San Cristóbal, and browse the shops, galleries, and food stalls along Calle Fortaleza and Calle del Cristo, all a short walk from the Old San Juan piers.

Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic

Welcome to Puerto Plata, the jewel of the Dominican Republic’s famed Amber Coast. This stunning port city, cradled between the Atlantic Ocean and the verdant slopes of Mount Isabel de Torres, offers the perfect blend of Caribbean relaxation and cultural discovery. From Victorian architecture painted in vibrant tropical hues to the world-renowned Amber Museum, Puerto Plata captures the authentic spirit of island life.

We dock at Taino Bay, right in the heart of the city, with a 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM call that leaves time for the cable car up Mount Isabel de Torres and a stroll through the Victorian Zone.
