Even previous exposure to extreme heat and cold weather conditions can affect how the surface will react.

I recently bought a 1952 featherweight that had been stored in the case for quite a while. It looked to be in very good shape with hardly any scratches but I knew it still needed some serious cleaning in the crevices and I wanted to protect the finish. I started by dismantling as much as I was comfortable with while servicing the machine including removing the motor. That way I would be able to get all of the dust build up cleaned out of the hard to reach areas. I used the area under the motor as my inconspicuous place to practice and I am glad I did. The finish while hardly chipped was very delicate and I wound up having to trim my nails down very far so that I would stop accidentally chipping the clear coat. Once I had trimmed my nails and figured out how much pressure was too much I was much more comfortable starting on the bed of the machine. The cleaning paste works so well and rather than rubbing with more force I found that being gentle and wiping up what I had used and then applying more cleaning paste again with a different part of the t shirt I was using as a rag was the best method to get any stubborn old caked dust off. The shine formula works wonders and my machine now looks amazing. There is definitely a learning curve and you have to be careful about your pressure but the product works wonderfully

I recently purchased a featherweight sewing machine, it runs great but needed a little spit polish. So I purchased the kit, and she looks 100% better. So glad! I figure one more time and she will look like new.

Sew Retro Cleaning Kit
I was so excited to receive my cleaning kit. What a difference it makes. Even on some of my machines that I had previously cleaned with sewing machine oil only. I can't wait to get all of my machines clean and shining again. It is a wonderful product.
