Article: Fabric and Racecars

Fabric and Racecars

family

After the Featherweight Maintenance Retreat at the Missouri Star Quilt Company Ruthie and I were able to do a little bit of fabric shopping.  Although I did make one note for next time -- plan ahead to do fabric shopping the day before the retreat... I know I would come home with more fabric for sure!  Carmon and Christian went to the man-cave at Missouri Star and enjoyed a round or two of pool while we shopped.  Christian liked the game so much he decided he wants to get a pool table for his house someday.... (Rack 'em up, Son!)

I must say, the new main store for MSQCo is wonderful!  When we came last year I had a hard time finding enough souvenirs, but not this year...  They've done a phenomenal job of stocking it with a variety of fun items to bring back to fellow quilt friends!

I also managed to get a peek and shop at my favorite genre - the Mercantile.  There is just something different about being able to touch and feel the fabric yourself before you buy it.  It makes you really, really want to buy it.  I have been eyeing some Riley Blakes for quite some time and so I nabbed a few precuts to add to the stash.

Several hours down the road the fellas decided to stop for a race around the racetrack at Indianapolis... the K1Speed Racetrack in Indianapolis, that is.

Carmon is in the blue, and Christian in the yellow.  Christian ended up taking second overall and beat his dad.  They did this type of racing a few weeks ago in Seattle but said that this racetrack was much longer.

Now on to Columbus, Ohio!  We have two Workshops scheduled for Columbus - looking forward to it!
