Featherweights Afloat Caribbean Cruise

Join Fellow Featherweight Enthusiasts April 20th - May 3rd, 2020; The Featherweight Shop will be going on a 13-day Hawaii and West Coast Cruise!!!  We will have a one day class for Featherweight Maintenance, as well as several days and evenings for you to relax and sew with your Featherweight on board the Celebrity Eclipse.  You will see the islands of Hawaii, Maui and Oahu on our journey as well as cities on the west coast (Astoria, OR, Seattle, WA, Victoria, BC, Vancouver, BC.)  This particular cruise line and itinerary was chosen so that you would be pampered with luxury accommodations with the combination of several days at sea for a memorable quilting and Featherweight experience!

The ship will depart from Honolulu, Oahu on April 20th, 2020 and will dock in Vancouver, BC on May, 3rd 2020.  

The price for this ultimate Featherweights Afloat Hawaiian Cruise Package starts at $2995 for each Featherweight Quilter or Workshop Attendee (based on double occupancy.)  For a non-quilter / accompanying roommate (e.g. spouse, traveling friend, etc) the price will be discounted by $500. 

The following list is included as part of each coordinating cruise package:

Additional items included for the Featherweight Quilter or Maintenance Workshop Attendee:

  • Novice Maintenance Workshop Class
  • A Singer Featherweight Tune-Up Kit
  • Featherweight technical support for the duration of the cruise
  • Sewing room access with fellow Featherweight Quilters for sewing time and fellowship
  • Use of maintenance and sewing supplies for workshop & sewing times
  • Special sewing kit for on-board sew along (T.B.D.)
  • Lots of Featherweight sewing goodies, surprises & gifts from the Featherweight Shop
If you do not have a Featherweight, or if you do not wish to transport one, the Featherweight shop will provide one for you to use for $125.

    Not Included:

    Travel Expenses to and from Hawaii and Vancouver, Shore Excursions, Spa Treatments, Upgraded Meals, Onboard Gratuities for Stateroom Attendants /  Housekeeping Staff / Dining Services, Extracurricular Activities and Products Sold Onboard the Cruiseship

    We do encourage you to not book any non-refundable hotels or plane tickets until we have met our minimum.  You will be contacted when the minimum amount of attendees has been met.  

    PLEASE NOTE:  Due to a limited space on the cruise, non-quilters (e.g. accompanying cruise roommates) will not be able to attend the Maintenance Workshop or group sewing times.  When registering far below, please select your traveler type.

     

    PAYMENT DETAILS

    There will be three types of staterooms available for this cruise:

    Oceanview* Stateroom = $3295
    Veranda 1B* Stateroom = $3795
    Aqua Class* Stateroom = $4395

    Prices are per person based on double occupancy.

    *Oceanview Staterooms:  Located on Deck 3 and feature expansive views of the ocean right from your window.

    *Veranda 1B Stateroom:  Located on Decks 8 and 9 in the midship area.  Due to their upper and more central location, these staterooms are typically more desirable. 

    *Aqua Class:  A select few of these rooms are located on Deck 11. Enjoy luxurious spa elements infused into the stateroom experience.  Savor clean cuisine with priority seating at Blu Restaurant, and escape to the Relaxation Room and Persian Garden for stunning sea views. Relax with AquaSpa treatments arranged by your personal spa concierge and feel rejuvenated with wellness classes such as meditation and yoga.

    Because the rooms are based on double occupancy, if you need to find a quilting roommate, click here to join our Featherweights Afloat Hawaii 2020 Facebook group.  Feel free to introduce yourself, and post that you are looking for a roommate.

    Payment Schedule for Quilter / Workshop Attendee:

    Initial Deposit = 30%

    Second Payment on August 1st, 2019 = 35%

    Final Payment on February 1st, 2020 = 35%

     
    Cancellation Schedule and Fees:
    At time of registration = $250 is non-refundable
    August 2nd, 2019 = a total of 30% will be non-refundable
    January 1st, 2020 = a total of 65% will be non-refundable
    February, 15th 2020 = total price 100% will be non-refundable

    (Accompanying Roommate Only)
    :

    Initial Deposit = 30%

    Second Payment on August 1st, 2019 =35%

    Final Payment on February 1st, 2019 = 35%

    The price for a Non-Quilter is $500 less than the price for a Quilter.

    Below is a list of the supplies and items that you will need to bring to the maintenance workshop and for sewing the duration of the cruise.

    Supplies for Quilter to Bring for Maintenance Workshop & Cruise Sewing:

    1. Singer Featherweight Sewing Machine (in working order)
    2. Small Towel 
      (to set your machine on while servicing at the Maintenance Workshop)
    3. Thread
    4. Bobbins
    5. Fabric or your own prepared project for sewing

    *As instructed by the cruise line, DO NOT bring the following items (but continue reading below for how these needful sewing items will be provided):

    1. Scissors
    2. Rotary Cutters**
    3. Irons
    4. Oil
    5. Kerosene
    6. Motor Lubricant and Grease
    7. Needles
    8. Pins
    9. Screwdrivers

    *The nine items in the list directly above will be provided by the Featherweight Shop for use in the classroom.  These items required pre-approval from the TSA and Celebrity Cruise Lines and will be put on the ship prior to your arrival.  Any of these items brought personally will not be allowed through security and will be confiscated by the TSA.  

    ** The Featherweight Shop will also bring cutting mats for sewing use.
