Shop Talk: From Scraps to Quilts!
Welcome back to Shop Talk with The Featherweight Shop! Shop Talk is our local chit chat with The Featherweight Shop staff, gathering around our dinette table so-to-speak (because that is what we have!) and sharing with one another. We love to share patterns, recipes, organizational ideas, history quips, gardening tips, crafty projects, or getting a smile and a delight about learning an old-fashioned way of doing things. We consider Shop Talk the fun tidbits of news!
Today, we are diving into the world of sewing room organization - one we always seem to be discussing in some form or fashion. As I am sure you can imagine, we have had many conversations considering various tips and tricks to keep our favorite fabric scraps in order. One day, we came across a Lori Holt blog discussing just this, and how to use the scraps to make fun scrappy quilts!
A not-so-well hidden secret here at The Featherweight Shop, is April's love of vintage fabric! We are going to try out a few of these fabulous organizing tips on her "Fabric Nook" and see which tips worked out best for us. Make sure to check back as we post our progress pictures! (As well as some very fun before and after pictures!)
Lori Holt Blog - From my Quilty Studio...How I Save My Fabric Scraps...and All About Bonus Quilts!!!
Want to get started on your own fabric organization? The Scrappy Project Planner by Lori Holt is a wonderful guide (as well as quilt pattern book) to help you! Don't delay, though... these are the very last copies we have and the book is now out of print.
Enjoy, and see you back here tomorrow for more Shop Talk!
