SHOP TALK: Spring Cleaning Checklists
Welcome back to Shop Talk here at The Featherweight Shop! We love our local chit chat with staff, gathering around the dinette table so-to-speak (because that is what we have!) and sharing with one another. In these segments, we exchange patterns, recipes, organizational ideas, history quips, gardening tips, crafty projects, and smiles about learning an old-fashioned way of doing things. Shop Talk is the fun tidbits of news!

Spring is the perfect time of year to break out the cleaning gloves and get rid of any old dust bunnies lying around! Preparing for a lovely, fresh summer season by cleaning my home, from top to bottom, always puts a smile on my face. To help keep organized and on track with my progress, I love to follow a "Spring Cleaning Checklist." As I work my way through a room, I check off each task as I go, making notes if need be.
One of the best Spring Cleaning Checklists that I have found is from ImperfectHomemaking.com. Although the list may look considerable, it is incredibly detailed as not to leave any task untouched! This list goes past spring cleaning and helps with organizational tips and tricks to get the items for the next season of the year.

One of my favorite tips from this cleaning list is to thoroughly clean and organize each drawer by removing each item, cleaning the drawer (including wiping it down!), reorganizing the pieces to fit correctly, and donating the products that you no longer use. I have found this tip to be so useful in my home. When I go through my spring cleaning, especially for my "junk drawers," this little extra TLC has my home feeling so much more orderly and cleaned out!
