What's New in The Featherweight Shop Vintage Collection - July 2021

historical

Here at the Featherweight Shop we have quite the collection of vintage Singer items.  Due to our remote location, very few customers have had the opportunity to see the many rare Singer items we have.  This series of blog posts brings our collection out for all to see what new items we get in.  Some of these items may be famous and recognizable, but we are sure there are others that very few have ever seen or heard of.  For the month of July 2021, here are some of our recent finds:

This is one of the Singer coin banks, but is unique in size.  Most of the other Singer book-style coinbanks are about an inch shorter than this one.  Here is a link to the more common book coin bank.

Here is an early variation of Singer's famous perpetual calendar.  I'm sure all collectors would love to get their hands on one of those NOS ('N'ew 'O'ld 'S'tock) date card sets that Singer mentions on the back of this calendar!

Take a look at one of the Centennial Singer tape measurers, complete with the original box and clip.  Click here to see if we have any of these original tape measures for sale.

We were thrilled to find this beautiful paper calendar from Singer in 1910.  It is in quite remarkable condition for being 111 years old!

These peculiar pieces of paper were originally on matchboxes in Finland advertising the new Singer 201!

We love finding these original souvenir pictures from Singer.  This one features notable landmarks in Boston.

We are partial to Spaniels here at the shop with our 11 year old Cocker 'Bell', so finding this cute postcard was a real treat!

Here's a photo of Bell as a puppy:

A souvenir plate featuring the Singer building in New York.

This is an original Singer letter opener likely from the 1960s.

There are so many fun vintage Singer items here at the shop, and we are very excited to share our new finds with the Featherweight community.  Stay tuned for next month!
