If there is oil residue on your finger after depressing it into the old pad, then it is time for a new Felt Drip Pad!
Simply remove the old one after removing the metal tray on the bottom of your machine and place the new wool pad inside. (You may need to clean the excess oil and old pad adhesives from the tray before applying the new pad.)

I ordered the drip pad for my 1938 Featherweight, Rose. Perfect size! Also ordered 2 add'l belts (hubby replaced the worn one & having extra is good), plus ordered 5 of the red felt rounds - which I use on Rose & for my other machines, too. Everything I order is always perfect. Am hoping to order the table for Rose at the beginning of the year as I use her the most of the machines I have. I've taught seniors to sew on her, my 2 grandchildren both have sewn on her, and I just finished sewing all the decals onto my grandson's letterman jacket (he's a senior). Rose handled all the sewing easily - including the double layered decals (for academics & sports) and the other decals onto the leather sleeves of the jacket. I especially love getting the small folding cards with tips (such as how to thread the bobbin, how to thread the machine, etc). Thank you!
