Installs in Three Steps
This plate uses the positioning block from the original throat plate — just move it over. All it takes is a screwdriver; we recommend the Wera Mid-Length.
Remove the original plate
Unscrew the throat plate and flip it over — the small positioning block on the underside is what moves to the new plate.
Transfer the block
Unscrew the block from the original plate and fasten it to the underside of the new graduated plate, snug in the same spot.
Screw the new plate down
Set the plate on the bed and fasten it with the same throat plate screws, making sure the position finger enters the notch underneath.

Machined in Italy exclusively for The Featherweight Shop, it is engineered with manufacturing tolerances noticeably tighter than other reproduction plates on the market—so it seats cleanly and fits precisely where it should. It also uses your machine's own throat plate screws to fasten down snug.

A quick note on installation. This plate uses the positioning block from your original throat plate. Simply unscrew the block from your old plate and transfer it to this new one, then fasten the plate down with your same screws. The throat plate does not include the positioning plate block or brackets and screws, but if you happen to need those, they're available separately. All it takes is a screwdriver; we recommend the Wera Mid-Length Maintenance Screwdriver. Before you sew — a reassembly reminder. Any time you remove the throat plate to clean the stitch-forming area, make certain that when you replace it, the position finger (A2 in the figure below) of the bobbin case base enters the notch (B2) of the position plate on the plate's underside. It's a small step that keeps everything running right.
