Join The Featherweight Shop January 20th - January 30th, 2025*, along with fellow Featherweight enthusiasts for a 10-night Caribbean Cruise!  (*Cruise 1)

An adventurous experience will be had on this Featherweights Afloat journey to the Caribbean!  Piece a quilt, sew a Featherweight-themed project and learn about Singer Featherweight Maintenance all aboard the Celebrity Eclipse. You will see the islands of Tortola, Antigua, Barbados, St. Lucia and St. Kitts. The cruise line, ship and itinerary were chosen so that you would be pampered with luxury accommodations, gourmet cuisine, spectacular scenery and Featherweight sewing in the Sky Conference Center on the 14th deck.  With the combined four sea days, each quilter is provided with a memorable quilting and Featherweight experience! The ship will depart from Fort Lauderdale, FL on January 20th, 2025, and will dock in Fort Lauderdale, FL on January 30th, 2025.  

The price for this Featherweights Afloat Southern Caribbean Cruise package starts at $3595 for each Featherweight Quilter (cabin rates are based on double occupancy.)  For a non-quilter / accompanying roommate (e.g., spouse, traveling friend, etc.), the package price will be discounted by $500.

* IMPORTANT REMINDER:  DO NOT bring the items above indicated with an asterisk *.  The starred items in the lists above will be available from The Featherweight Shop for use in the classroom.  These items require pre-approval from either the TSA or Celebrity Cruise Lines and will be put on the ship prior to your arrival.  Any of these items brought personally may not be allowed through security and possibly confiscated. 
 

IMPORTANT  ITEMS FOR QUILTERS TO BRING for this cruise:

 

OPTIONAL, BUT RECOMMENDED ITEMS TO BRING: 

(The Featherweight Shop will not have a store to purchase anything on the ship.)

      1. Handy Stickers or fabric unit markers of your choice

      2. Quarter-Inch Foot (low shank) or Seam Guide if you already have a personal favorite that you would prefer to use versus those provided on board.

      3. Corner Clipper Ruler for snowballing outside blocks

      4. Sewline Trio Colors Pencil or marking pencil of your choice

      5. Tin Mug or Small Container to hold tools 

      6. Small Empty Spray Bottle if you like to use water spritzing while pressing.

      7. Quart or Sandwich-sized Ziploc Baggies to store unfinished pieces & blocks

      8. Lighting for your own sewing station

      9. Pattern or Book Stand

      10. Your own sewing project if you wish to not sew the quilt kit on board.

      11. Additional 100% cotton thread if you need thread to sew your personal project.

      12. Additional cutting rulers and cutting mats if you need them to coordinate with your personal project.

      13. A “cushy for your tushy” (or your back), for sitting and sewing in the conference room. 

      14. Hand-sewing project for any possible quiet times
  • NOTE:  All irons for use in the sewing room are dry irons only.

    REMINDER: The Featherweight Shop will not have a store to purchase anything on the ship.

     

    PLEASE NOTE:  Due to limited space in the sewing room, non-quilters (e.g., spouse, accompanying cruise roommates, etc.) there may or may not be extra room during teaching activities, so please check with Featherweight Shop cruise staff for extra guest attendance.  All are welcome to join us for the meet & greet the first evening!  Plus, there will be many fun ship activities for guests to participate in while you are learning, too.  When registering far below, please select your traveler type.

     

    SECTION 2 - PAYMENT DETAILS:

    There will be three types of staterooms available for this cruise:



    Veranda V2* Stateroom = $3595

    *Veranda V2 Stateroom:  Located on Decks, 6, 7 and 8 feature unobstructed views from the veranda.

    Veranda DV* (Deluxe Veranda) Stateroom = $3695

    *Veranda DV Stateroom:  Located on Decks, 6, 7, 8 and 9 in unobstructed viewing areas in midship with larger balconies.  These large balcony rooms are typically more desirable.

    Concierge Class C1* Stateroom = $3895

    *Concierge Class C1:  These select rooms are located on Decks 9, 10 and 11. As a special member of the Concierge Class, you’ll receive personalized concierge service, and extra perks like priority disembarkation. Dedicated attendants are readily available to answer your questions and make restaurant reservations for you. Ask for the pillow menu to customize your bedding experience and enjoy complimentary shoeshine services during your cruise. Sparkling wine and daily delectable delights are also available upon request. 

    Upon arrival, guests of the Concierge Class will receive an in-room welcome letter detailing the date, time, and location of the Concierge Class luncheon. You’ll have your pick of dining options in the Main Restaurant onboard the ship.

    While there’s no shortage of dining choices available throughout the ship, at the Concierge Class Luncheon, you’ll find a more intimate setting where you can meet and mingle with fellow cruisers. Get to know your stateroom “neighbors” and new friends alike.

    The luncheon typically ends around 2 p.m. on embarkation day, so be sure to select an early boarding time in the app when checking in.

    *Room prices are based on double occupancy; if you need to find a quilting roommate, click here to join our Featherweights Afloat Facebook group.  Feel free to introduce yourself, and post that you are looking for a roommate.  If you are wanting a single room all to yourself, the booking discounts are listed below.  Again, cruise cabin costs are still based on double occupancy, but there is a slight discount for single booking rates with room style specification. Contact us for current single-cruiser rates.

    Final Payment Due on August 31st, 2024

    At time of registration = $100 is non-refundable
    September 31st, 2024 = a total of 30% will be non-refundable
    October 16th, 2024 = a total of 60% will be non-refundable
    November 1st, 2024 = a total of 80% will be non-refundable 
    December 1st, 2024 = 100% of the cruise fare will be non-refundable

    Payment Schedule for NON-Quilter 
    (Accompanying Roommate Only):

    Initial Deposit = $500

    Final Payment Due on August 31st, 2024
