Brownie Stew with Lou

Shop Talk with the Featherweight Shop
Welcome back to Shop Talk with The Featherweight Shop! Shop Talk is our local chit chat with The Featherweight Shop staff, gathering around our dinette table so-to-speak (because that is what we have!) and sharing with one another. We love to share patterns, recipes, organizational ideas, history quips, gardening tips, crafty projects, or getting a smile and a delight about learning an old-fashioned way of doing things. We consider Shop Talk the fun tidbits of news!

If you have ever had the enjoyment of speaking with one of our lovely customer service ladies, you may have spoken with Lou! Lou is known around the office for her joyful attitude, an abundance of Featherweight knowledge, and always bringing a smile to our faces! We love Lou!!!

Today, Lou is sharing a family recipe as well as how the recipe earned its unique name.  We hope you enjoy it as much as we did....  {Our staff got such a giggle out of the name, and had all sorts of concoctions brewing in our heads.  We were very surprised that this recipe did not include chocolate!}

Back when Lou was about seven years old, she was in Brownie Scouts. They would go to day-camp to learn, play, and explore. One day, Lou learned how to make this delicious and simple stew, henceforth earning the name "Brownie Stew".  The recipe became a family staple and continues to be used in her home to this day!
