What's New in The Featherweight Shop Vintage Collection - September 2021

new in collection

Here at the Featherweight Shop we have quite the collection of vintage Singer items.  Due to our remote location, very few customers have had the opportunity to see the many rare Singer items we have.  This series of blog posts brings our collection out for all to see what new items we get in.  Some of these items may be famous and recognizable, but we are sure there are others that very few have ever seen or heard of.  For the month of September 2021, here are some of our recent finds:

This rare fan from 1898 is in grand condition with fascinating facts about Singer on the back.
We are pleased to have these beautiful little cards in our collection!
The pattern tracing wheels from Singer are so smart, and this 'scaled' style one is in remarkable condition.  Click Here to see if we have any of these available for sale at the shop.
The Singer Almanacs are always fun to find and delightful to read.  This one has a  diagram in the back showing the Singer Building compared to the other prominent structures of the early 1900s - it tops them all!
This has no additional information on the back, but it is dainty at just five inches across, and the farm setting depicted is charming.
This was an exciting and peculiar find - a sort of tri-fold wallet-like case lined with pockets and many Singer needles; this is possibly something a salesman would have used.
The variations of the hand fans Singer advertised on is marvelous, and we scarcely see the same flower pattern twice.  Click Here to see if we have any original Singer Japanese hand fans in stock.
There are so many fun vintage Singer items here at the shop, and we are very excited to share our new finds with the Featherweight community.  Stay tuned for next month!
