What's New in The Featherweight Shop Vintage Collection - December 2022
Here at the Featherweight Shop, we have quite the collection of vintage Singer items. Due to our remote location, very few customers have had the opportunity to see the many rare Singer items we have. This series of blog posts brings our collection out for all to see what new items we receive. Some of these items may be famous and recognizable, but there may be other items that very few individuals have ever seen or heard of before. For the month of December 2022, here are some of our recent finds:
This original 1929 singer advertisement calendar is in stunning condition - Basically NOS (New Old Stock)
The Blackside version of the Singer pattern tracing wheel is one of the hardest to find. Click here to see if we have any original pattern tracing wheels available for sale.
We have a few different Singer company stamps here in the shop.
These all-metal original controllers are very desirable as they allow you to use your entire foot to press down on the pedal. They were available for purchase separately and rarely came with a machine from the store.
We were thrilled to find this employee health insurance coverage brochure.
These blue velvet attachment boxes are quite rare and were sold primarily in Germany. Click here to see if we have any of these available for sale.
It is a delight to collect the employee button pins as they came in a wide array of colors.
This Sewhandy was sold in Germany likely in the 1930s and looks nearly the same as the cast iron model 20s sold here in the US; however, it has several Blackside parts. We haven't seen any Blackside parts on Sewhandys that were sold in the US prior to the 1940s, so this is quite peculiar. The box is exceptionally adorable and has a ribbon tie to keep it closed.
This cute employee pin came from France. Click here to see if we have any employee pins available for sale.
This month's final featured item is a Singer repairman's screwdriver in great condition.
There are so many fun vintage Singer items here at the shop, and we are very excited to share our new finds with the Featherweight community. Stay tuned for next time!
