Q: Does the Featherweight Maintenance Workshop provide the same information as your free video tutorials on The Featherweight Schoolhouse?
A: Yes and no. The basic information found in short tutorials on the Featherweight Schoolhouse is similar to that in the Maintenance Workshop, but the Maintenance Workshop provides an expanded experience, just like the classes we have taught around the country over the years. You will learn alongside other students but in the comfort of your own home and at your own pace. We also demonstrate that routine servicing is an easy process and not an arduous chore to be put off. The Featherweight Maintenance Workshop is the teaching tool you will want in your Featherweight library for years to come!
Q: The video indicates that it is only 1 hour 40 minutes in length, is this learning material the same as your in-person Featherweight Workshop?
A: Yes, the DVD or Streaming video is a complete professional production of one of our all-day Featherweight Maintenance classes with the exact same process and material covered. Our classes are attended by 30+ students from 9:00am to 4:30pm and is comprised of teaching, student / teacher interaction, breaks, etc. The video running time is 1 hour and 40 minutes, however, you can proceed and pause at your own pace as you apply the learning material to your machine. Unlike the in-person workshop, you won't have to wait for other participants downtime, or you can replay and spend more time learning an unfamiliar subject. Total machine-servicing time will depend on the condition of your Featherweight and your servicing experience.
NOTE: We hope you particularly enjoy watching one of our students perform her routine oiling in real-time. Any guesses how long it takes her? (Hint: Watch the clock, because it's faster than 100 minutes!)
Q: Does this DVD include information for servicing the white Featherweight as well as the free-arm 222 Featherweight?
A: Yes, this workshop is applicable for all vintage Featherweight models - 221 as well as the free-arm 222.
Q: Is the Singer Featherweight Maintenance Handbook required to go with the DVD?
A: No, the handbook is not required, but we highly recommended using it as a companion just like the students in the workshop class. The handbook will also be an invaluable guide on its own whenever you want a quick refresher of the material. Moreover, your Featherweight servicing experience will increase as the handbook guides you in learning to troubleshoot problem machines.
Q: What format is this DVD, will it work if I order and have it shipped overseas?
A: This DVD is formatted to play in any region.
Q: Does The Featherweight Workshop have closed-captioning available?
A: Yes, but only on the Streaming product. So, if you require closed captioning, then you will want to select either the Streaming Featherweight Workshop, or the Streaming Workshop Bundle (coming soon).
