• Pom-pom trim is not included, but is sold separately here in a variety of colors. A tutorial is also available for how to sew the pom-pom trim into the backing strips as an upgrade option to the binding.  
  
  Pom Pom Yardage Requirements:  8 yards continuous yardage. 

Note:  All fabric for our quilt was cut, sewn and quilted without pre-washing any fabric.  Thus, all yardage requirements reflect and assume this (most patterns do).  So, if you are one who likes to pre-wash all your fabric, before constructing your quilts, then you may need to purchase additional yardage to allow for shrinkage.

Note:  There are a very limited number of kits available, so when they're gone, they're gone forever.  Don't delay on getting your backing fabric either; you might even want to buy a couple of extra yards to collect (or just to enjoy in your fabric closet!).

IMPORTANT PATTERN TIPS & ERRATA:

Yardage Cuts:  Third Border / Solid Green – only 1 yard is needed (page 2 image is incorrect).

Cutting:  Third Border – only (6) strips 2” x WOF are needed

Instructions: 

Step 14 – Sew the second border pieces together end-to-end.  Cut (2) 44.5” x 2.5” and (2) 48.5” x 2.5” strips.  Sew the (2) 48.5” strips to the left and right sides of the quilt top.  Press to border.  Sew (2) 44.5” strips to the top and bottom of the quilt top.  Press to border.

Step 16 – This is a clarification update to the pattern.  The dark pieces of the half-square-triangle (5” squares cut in half on the diagonal of the darker prints) end up being smaller than the triangle units sewn in step 15.  Whether intended or not, this will be fine when you actually sew them together.  Simply center the smaller triangle piece, right-sides-together (RST) to the larger sewn triangle unit and stitch.  You will follow it up by trimming the sewn unit to 4.5” square, trimming away the excess anyway.

Step 20 – Make the third border by sewing (6) 2” x WOF strips together end to end.  Cut (2) 60.5” x 2” strips and attach to the left and right sides of the quilt top.  Press to border.  Cut 55.5” x 2” strips and sew to the top and bottom of the quilt.  Press to border.
