Singer Featherweight 221J Sewing Machine, Tan - ES8804**

This Tan Singer Featherweight 221J is so dainty and in fabulous condition! Completely serviced, cleaned, polished, electrically inspected, timed, tuned and sampled - this Tan Featherweight 221 will be ready to sew right out of the case. This machine is fitted with its original powerful 110v motor that has been rewound to work at optimum speed and torque.
(Technically and originally named by Singer, the color of this machine is called "Light Bisque", however it is more commonly known as the Tan or Beige colored Featherweight. But, as you can tell from the lighting, the color changes depending upon its surroundings.)

ES8804** indicates a commission date of August 19th, 1961. Interestingly, this particular one was badged as a 221J yet given a UK serial number.
With the tan Featherweight, Singer was trying to take one of their best-selling sewing machine models (the 221 Featherweight) and give it a modern, more updated color and style. The distinct color is noticeable, obviously, but the light housing and faceplate have a more aero-dynamic sleek design.

The Original Bobbin Case is included, adhering to originality all these years later. The machine has been serviced and calibrated for quilter’s cotton, so tension is already properly set; however, tension can easily be adjusted depending on fabric needs.
