This Singer Featherweight 221 is absolutely gorgeous in brandywine with gold decals! Completely restored inside and out - this Featherweight 221 will be ready to sew right out of the case. This machine is fitted with an original 110-volt motor that has been rewound to work at optimum speed and torque. What makes this Featherweight special?
This Featherweight is distinguished by the Singer decal on top of the arm instead of on the light housing. The placement of this decal was seen on some Featherweights manufactured primarily in 1939. One guess is that the Singer employee who installed the decals on the sewing machines was stuck all day doing decals on the Singer 66, 201, and 15 machines...here comes the Featherweight...whoops...the decal got put in the wrong spot; however, an increase in machines from this same batch with the decal on the arm give credence that it may have been intentional by Singer.
To guarantee the authenticity of this restoration, we took photos prior to restoration showing the machine and the location of the Singer decal; those photos can be seen in this listing.

The Original Bobbin Case is included, adhering to originality all these years later. The machine has been serviced and calibrated for quilter’s cotton, so tension is already properly set; however, tension can easily be adjusted depending on fabric needs.
The machine is fitted with an original scrolled faceplate and an original, yet rechromed needle plate. The original case includes the top tray for holding the foot controller and some attachments.
