A Thread Cutter That's Actually Sharp
Upon arrival of our new Featherweight Shop edition Thread Cutterz, we wanted to make this quick and easy video tutorial for you! This tutorial will walk you through setup as well as show you how easy it is to now cut thread when piecing or sewing on your Singer Featherweight 221 or 221.
We all know the vintage original Singer thread cutter and even the new replica thread cutter (both designed to wrap around the presser bar) are more for nostalgic purposes than they are for actually cutting...(we have often referred to the old ones as "thread-frayers"!) This new Featherweight Shop edition Thread Cutterz, however, not only makes the cut (pun intended), but it's sleek, low-profile design make it a perfect companion to accent your Singer Featherweight 221 or 222 machine! It's so handy -- and cutting thread is like a hot knife through butter!
Look how tiny it is! You can just imagine then how tiny the little details are in the Featherweight design -- notice the handwheel, thread spool, needle... isn't it just so cute!?
Simply adhere the Featherweight Shop edition Thread Cutterz to the lower front edge of the chrome faceplate and then pull your threads toward you for snipping thread in between piecing. Or, use the front blade to trim thread as needed. Speaking of the blade, it's razor sharp! Yet, it's tucked inside the black housing, keeping your fingers safe.
We are so grateful for all the assistance and support from brothers Vance and Cullen Zahorski; they were so accommodating in making these for us! We look forward to seeing more of their successful endeavors!
