Farm Girl Vintage Quilt & Featherweight Sew Along - Block 5 (Butter Churn)
We are already on Block 5, Butter Churn, of the Farm Girl Vintage Quilt Sew Along with the Featherweight Shop!
If you're just now joining us, we are continuing with our Farm Girl Vintage Sew Along at the Featherweight Shop! Grab some fabric, get it prepared and cut and let's enjoy some more Featherweight sewing! Lori Holt shows us a fun and efficient way to sew flying geese. Follow along with her instructions, making sure to press seams open when you can and being careful to be as exact with your alignments as possible.
I wasn't paying attention on my first found of the pinwheel and jumped ahead before reading the directions. (I trimmed too soon, before I could fix my mistake, and had to start over.)

I am out of town this month for the Sew Along at the shop, but Wendy and Ruthie made sure to take photos so we could share their recap here...
Arlene is so quilt talented! We are all excited to see her Featherweight fabric version of these blocks!
(looks like the gals made good use of the upstairs where we hosted part of our Advanced Featherweight Workshop last weekend... And I heard they made yummy tacos, too!
Yaaaaay! Lou, our newest Featherweight Shop Office Assistant, even joined in on the fun!
What about you? What fabrics and color combinations did you come up with for today's block? Be sure to upload your photos in the comments below for others to gain inspiration; we all truly enjoy seeing what you make, too!
Until next Featherweight Farm Girl Vintage Quilt Sew Along (featuring the "Canning Season" Block 6)
