This past week, the Featherweight shop staff met and chose the Farm Girl Vintage Quilt Book as our next sew along. The quilt is adorable and appeals to many styles, the blocks are smaller at 6 1/2" square and will be fairly simple to construct (especially with Lori Holt's wonderful instructions), and each block will be easy to find fabric for (scraps on hand, charm packs, fat quarter bundle, complete kits, etc.) making it manageable on any fabric budget!

We will be gathering to sew on our regular Featherweight Shop Sew Along day (traditionally, every Monday). All Featherweight owners are always welcome to sew right along with us, regardless of project, but if you want to join in with the making of the Farm Girl Vintage quilt, a lot of the fun internet chit-chat and discussion will be focused on the featured block.
What you will need:
When: Anytime that is convenient for you to sew. We will be starting out slow with just one (1) block (to give beginners enough time to become familiar with quilting) and then as time goes by we will increase that to accommodate duplicate blocks or if we happen to get antsy and want to sew more! No worries, though, we will give you advance notice when we decide to increase the number of blocks!
Where: This is a casual online sew along, so you can join in right from your own home. Be sure to check out the Featherweight Fellowship page, too, because there might be a local gathering of Featherweight friends who would be happy to have you join with them whenever they meet together.
How to Participate:
This book has been published for a couple of years now, so if you've already started on this quilt but haven't finished quite yet, you are more than welcome to join in, too! You'll be ahead of us, but that will still be wonderful, because as you round the corner to the finish line we will cheer you on; and, it will encourage us to keep going!
