What's New in The Featherweight Shop Vintage Collection - November 2021
by Christian Henry

Here at the Featherweight Shop, we have quite the collection of vintage Singer items.  Due to our remote location, very few customers have had the opportunity to see the many rare Singer items we have.  This series of blog posts brings our collection out for all to see what new items we get in.  Some of these items may be famous and recognizable, but we are sure there are others that very few have ever seen or heard of.  For the month of November 2021, here are some of our recent finds:

We were ecstatic to find this beautiful Italian Centennial pin from Singer!  It is slightly larger in size than the standard employee 'Years of Service' pins from Singer.

This 1930s fashion magazine from Singer is just marvelous with all its color spreads and clothes that would certainly be a challenge for many sewers to make today!

This is a small 'Approved Singer Dealer' stamp.

These booklets contain coupons that could be redeemed for sewing lessons at your local Singer store.  Finding them complete in English is an uncommon occurrence, but this Italian one is especially rare.

Centennial Singer matchbooks were exciting to run across, and we have seen them in four different colors including this bright green.  Click here to see if we have any of these matchbooks for sale.

We aren't quite sure how this advertisement was used, as the weights on the back don't seem to be magnetic, but it is unique and beautiful nonetheless.

Our perpetual Singer calendars are some of our favorite items to collect, and this rare one is Italian!  Click here to see if we have any perpetual calendars for sale.

This is a 1-liter oil can that would have been used in Germany in likely the 1960s.

We were thrilled to find this unique 221K with the rare 'Manufactured in Great Britain' decal in English.  This decal is seen slightly more often written in French.  The motor also features the gold 'S' and Bakelite motor band that was typical of early 221K Featherweights.

The last new item in our collection is this postcard depicting the Singer factory in Monza, Italy.

There are so many fun vintage Singer items here at the shop, and we are very excited to share our new finds with the Featherweight community.  Stay tuned for next month!
