What's New in The Featherweight Shop Vintage Collection - April 2024

Here at the Featherweight Shop, we have quite the collection of vintage Singer items.  Due to our remote location, very few customers have had the opportunity to see the many rare Singer items we have procured in our personal collection.  This series of blog posts brings our collection out for all to see what new items we receive.  Some of these items may be famous and recognizable, but there may be other items that very few individuals have ever seen or heard of before.  For the month of April 2024, here are some of our recent finds for your viewing pleasure:

The first highlight of this machine is the original type II corduroy case insert. Click here to read more about these rare features.

The machine is additionally unique with this restamped serial number with only five numbers. If it had a sixth number, AF58347* would put it in the batch of Featherweights from August 15th, 1940. A significant amount of mystery surrounds a Featherweight with an odd serial number stamp like this one.

We are excited to have this promotional 1897 calendar to our collection.

This Blind Stitch attachment came from the UK and differs slightly compared to the Blind Stitch Attachments manufactured here in the USA. The box is slightly different as well with end flaps instead of a removable lid. A combination like this is difficult to find especially in such good condition!

This extremely rare pin was likely worn by an employee at or in celebration of Singer's presence at the Golden Gate International Exposition in San Francisco.

This beautiful Swedish oil can makes a distinguished addition to our oil can collection.

This is a fascinating set of scenes from Boston and the surrounding area. The back of each card features a Singer advertisement.

This is the most unique Singer promotional lighter that we have seen. It is quite small - standing only 2" tall.

We are excited to have this book in our library! It is a training manual that would have been used along with a training course for Singer saleswomen.

This gorgeous pin is about 1" in diameter and features an image of King George V. The back features a Singer advertisement.

There are so many fun vintage Singer items here at the shop, and we are very excited to share our new finds with the Featherweight community.  Stay tuned for next month!

Occasionally, we have an extra accessory, attachment or collectible available for purchase in the Shop.  You, too, could begin your own Singer collection - check out what's new in the Collector's Corner!
