What's New in The Featherweight Shop Vintage Collection - February 2022
Here at the Featherweight Shop, we have quite the collection of vintage Singer items. Due to our remote location, very few customers have had the opportunity to see the many rare Singer items we have. This series of blog posts brings our collection out for all to see what new items we receive. Some of these items may be famous and recognizable, but there may be other items that very few individuals have ever seen or heard of before. For the month of February 2022, here are some of our recent finds:
An adorable little Singer oil can!
This is a rare, original Singercraft Guide that would have been given out at the Golden Gate International Exposition in 1939!
Here is a paper from an antique hand-fan advertising a Singer store in Auburn, NY. It appears that a newspaper office now stands in the store's place on State Street.
This is a beautiful and complete set of Singer playing cards. Click here to see if we have any of these original playing card sets available for purchase.
This original post card gives the dimensions of the massive clock at the Singer factory in Clydebank, Scotland.
Here is an original employee pin. The two stars may have indicated two years of service as a Singer employee. Click here to see if we have any original Singer employee pins for sale.
These are two different Singer employee business cards. The first belonged to Archie Reid who was a Singer employee in Saskatchewan, Canada and the other belonged to Francisco Ballesteros of Taximaroa, Mexico.
We are thrilled to have these two Sewhandys in our collection. One has an original hammered green finish, and it was likely sold in France. The other has a bright red/orange finish with Blackside parts.
We were thrilled to find this promissory note from Singer in Italy.
We love to collect Singer signs here at the shop! This one is from Serbia!
There are so many fun vintage Singer items here at the shop, and we are very excited to share our new finds with the Featherweight community. Stay tuned for next month!
