Completely serviced, cleaned, polished, electrically inspected, timed, tuned and sampled - rest assured, this Featherweight 221K will be ready to sew right out of the case. This machine is fitted with its original 110-volt motor that has been rewound to 110 voltage to work at optimum speed and torque, so you can plug it in and begin sewing with effortless power.
You might be wondering, "what is 'M.R.' and why does it make this Featherweight rare?" During the late 1940s and very early 1950s, Singer sent a few Featherweights to be sold in Spanish and Portuguese speaking markets primarily in South America. The very few machines that were sold or intended to be sold there were marked with the 'M.R.' decal to trademark the Singer name in those foreign countries. The decal placement isn't always the same on these rare machines, and this specific 221 has the decal below the badge and below the 'Singer Manufacturing Co.' decal on the back. 'M.R.' stands for Marcas Registradas which translates from Portuguese to "Registered Trademark". You can still find the 'M.R.' symbol today often on Coca-Cola products bottled in Mexico.
Included with this machine is the matching Spanish 221 manual. This manual is extremely unique and coveted. It has more than twice as many pages as English 221 manuals and features an x-ray view of the 221, parts diagrams, a detailed view of stitch formation and instructions on more attachments than a regular 221 manual.

The Original Bobbin Case is included, adhering to originality all these years later. The machine has been serviced and calibrated for quilter’s cotton, so tension is already properly set; however, tension can easily be adjusted depending on fabric needs.
The machine is fitted with an original scrolled faceplate and the original case includes the top tray for holding the attachments.
