This Singer Featherweight 221 is in great condition, and it was commissioned on August 19th, 1947! Cleaned and serviced inside and out - this 221 will be ready to sew right out of the case. This machine is fitted with an original 220-volt motor that has been rewound to work at 110-volt power with optimum speed and torque. A converter is not needed in the U.S. or Canada. This machine is given a Grade 8-. Be sure to click on any image above to view the beauty of this Singer Featherweight machine. It is in good condition with some small pin scratches.
The machine features the rare gold 'S' Bakelite motor. These rare motors were made in the U.S.A., Canada, and Great Britain, and they usually coincide with a machine sold in a different location than the country where the machine was produced. Because this is a 221 Featherweight manufactured in the U.S.A. with this Bakelite 220v motor, it is likely that this one was originally sold outside the U.S. in a country requiring 220v power.
Included with Machine:
Additional Quilting Attachments can be purchased, and if you need any Fashion Aids for apparel or ornamental sewing (e.g., Buttonholer, Blind Stitcher, etc...), we will prepare samples for those as well should you decide to purchase them separately.
The Original Bobbin Case is included, adhering to originality all these years later. The machine has been serviced and calibrated for quilter’s cotton, so tension is already properly set; however, tension can easily be adjusted depending on fabric needs.
The machine is fitted with an original striated faceplate and the original case includes the top tray for holding the attachments.
Free Shipping in the USA through UPS Ground is provided. The machine will be thoroughly and carefully packed ~ guaranteed to arrive safe and sound.
