Singer Featherweight 221 Sewing Machine, AM683*** - Canvas Case Cover - RARE
Our machine shipping staff is currently on one of our Featherweights Afloat cruises. This machine will ship the week of October 19th-23rd.
Completely serviced, cleaned, polished, electrically inspected, timed, tuned and sampled - this Featherweight 221 will be ready to sew right out of the case. This machine is fitted with an original 110-volt motor that has been rewound to work at optimum speed and torque.
What makes this Featherweight special?
This machine is distinguished by its case cover, which is original from Singer, made for the Featherweight case. This extremely rare cover protects the case for getting scuffed or dinged. There have only been a handful of these case covers discovered, and they have been seen with Featherweights made towards the end of Featherweight production in the USA. The cover has an opening for the handle to fit through, and it has a zipper on each side of the handle for the cover to be opened or removed. This will be a substantial addition to any Featherweight collection!
AM683*** indicates an original production commission date of January 29th, 1957. The machine is in excellent condition with only light clearcoat wear; it is given a Grade 8-. Be sure to click on any image to view this Singer Featherweight machine.

Additional Quilting Attachments can be purchased, and if you need any Fashion Aids for apparel or ornamental sewing (e.g., Buttonholer, Blind Stitcher, etc...), we will prepare samples for those as well should you decide to purchase them separately.
The Original Bobbin Case is included, adhering to originality all these years later. The machine has been serviced and calibrated for quilter’s cotton, so tension is already properly set; however, tension can easily be adjusted depending on fabric needs.
The machine is fitted with an original striated faceplate, and the original case includes the side tray for holding the attachments.
