Singer Featherweight 221K, Centennial - EG9647**, Rare Great Britain Decal - Fully Restored in Lagoon

This 1951 Singer Featherweight 221K is absolutely gorgeous, restored in lagoon with gold decals! Completely restored inside and out - this Featherweight 221 will be ready to sew (or display) right out of the case. This machine is fitted with an original 220-volt motor that has been rewound to work at 110-voltage with optimum speed and torque. A voltage converter is not needed in the USA or Canada. This machine features Singer's Centennial badge commemorating 100 years of the finest sewing machines, 1851-1951.

This Featherweight is distinguished by the 'Manufactured in Great Britain' decal on the back of the machine arm.  A similar decal (composed in French) was frequently placed on 221 Featherweights sold in France.  It is not clear why Singer added this origin country decal when a machine would be sold in the UK, but they are certainly difficult to come by.

The Original Bobbin Case is included, adhering to originality all these years later.  The machine has been serviced and calibrated for quilter’s cotton, so tension is already properly set; however, tension can easily be adjusted depending on fabric needs.

The machine is fitted with an original scrolled faceplate and an original, yet newly chromed needle plate. The original case includes the tray for holding the foot controller.
