This Singer Featherweight 221K is in good condition, and it was commissioned on August 17th, 1949! Cleaned and serviced inside and out - this 221K will be ready to sew right out of the case. This machine is fitted with an original 110-volt motor that has been rewound to work at optimum speed and torque. This machine is given a Grade 7. It is in good condition with pin scratches and some minor paint wear on the front edge near the bottom of the machine.
Singer celebrated their 100th anniversary by putting the Centennial commemorative badge on many of the machines they sold. This specifi machine likely was sold a couple years later than when it was produced in 1949 and received the Centennial badge about that time.
Additional Quilting Attachments can be purchased, and if you need any Fashion Aids for apparel or ornamental sewing (e.g., Buttonholer, Blind Stitcher, etc...), we will prepare samples for those as well should you decide to purchase them separately.
The Original Bobbin Case is included, adhering to originality all these years later. The machine has been serviced and calibrated for quilter’s cotton, so tension is already properly set; however, tension can easily be adjusted depending on fabric needs.
The machine is fitted with an original scrolled faceplate and the original case includes the top tray for holding the attachments.
