Description

This first-run 1933 Singer Featherweight 221 is absolutely stunning in Gloss Black with gold decals! Completely restored inside and out - this Featherweight 221 will be ready to sew (or display) right out of the case. This machine is fitted with an original 110-volt motor that has been rewound to work at optimum speed and torque. Click on any image above to view the beauty of this machine and restoration quality. AD544*** indicates an original commission date of October 3rd, 1933, and that this is the 2,993rd Featherweight produced. Consistent with our Featherweight timeline, this machine has the back arm decal placed on approximately the first 3,000 Featherweights. A picture is shown of the decal prior to and after restoration.

This marvelous Featherweight still has its original guarantee, purchase receipts, coupon book, and service receipts give to the original owner, Alice McLellan. Though the Singer employee failed to record the machine's serial number, all the paperwork is consistent with other records from the 1930s.

This Featherweight first arrived to us in very poor condition, and because it is such an early Featherweight, we made the decision to restore it back to gloss black. The choice to restore a sought-after machine like this one in black greatly increased its value and appeal, as the traditional look has been maintained. Each one of our restored and repainted Featherweights receives hours of personal care in its disassembly, painting process, reassembly, stitch sampling and overall preparation for each and every customer.
